Boxxer Plans Diamond Drilling On Boss Project

    July 30, 2008

CALGARY, Alberta –Boxxer Gold Corp (TSXV – “BXX”) is pleased to announce that it has executed a diamond drilling contract to drill test the zone of copper-gold mineralization exposed in the Boss Extension, Boss and Oro Amigo zones on its 100% owned Boss project located in the Goodsprings Mining District in southern Nevada.   New results from an ongoing exploration program include 2.93% copper, 0.57 g/t gold, 278 g/t silver and 4.59% zinc over and interval of 1.0 m in the Boss # 3 zone.  Detailed mapping of the Upper level of this zone indicates widespread copper oxide mineralization hosted in coarse dolomite from the portal to the end of the workings.   Systematic channel sampling of this zone is underway to define the limits and grade of the mineralization.  The current program on the Boss project consists of channel sampling of old adits and pits in the Boss Extension area and the Ironside Northeast zone (Figure-1) both of which are located within the 14,000 (4.3 kilometres) foot long alteration zone outlined on the western side of the property.

Mr. Elmer Stewart, President and CEO of Boxxer stated, “The mineralization in the Boss # 3 zone has substantially enlarged the potential mineralized zone on this portion of the property.  The high silver and zinc concentrations suggest a transition from the copper-gold mineralization located to date to a base metal style of mineralization.  This transition suggests a zonation of the various styles of mineralization typical of skarn related porphyry style of mineralization”.

    Boss # 3:
This underground workings on this zone consists of an Upper level located at the 1,250 m elevation and the Lower level located at the 1,100 m elevation.   Mapping and reconnaissance channel sampling of both levels was completed to determine if continuous channel sampling of this zone is warranted.   Analytical results (sample # B3-1 and B3-2 were previously announced) for the reconnaissance sampling completed on both levels are outlined below.

    Level Sample # Interval (m) Copper (%) Gold (g/t) Silver ( g/t) Lead ( %) Zinc (%)
    Upper  B3-1 & B3-2 1.70 0.47 0.32 75.80 5.43 4.24
    Upper  BM3-01-08 1.00 0.96 0.21 79.10 0.03 2.04
    Upper  BM3-02-08 0.80 0.55 0.21 65.00 0.03 0.70
    Upper  BM3-03-08 1.00 2.93 0.57 278.00 0.60 4.59
    Lower BM3-04-08 0.50 0.04 0.26 0.50 0.01 0.04
Lower BM3-05-08 0.50   no significant results

The Boss # 3 zone is hosted in coarse grained dolomite alteration and contains substantial concentrations of silver-zinc-lead which is different from the 13 other large zones of copper-gold mineralization located within the 14,000 foot long (4.3 kilometres) alteration zone.  The underground workings on the Upper level extend for an estimated distance of 40 m below the floor of this level in visually similar style mineralization (Figure-2).  The Lower level located approximately 175 metres northwest of and 125 metres below the Upper level returned significant concentrations of gold and silver in one sample (BM3-04-08) of coarse grained dolomite.  The thickness of the mineralization in the Boss # 3 has not been determined.

    Diamond Drilling:
Boxxer has executed a contract with Marcus & Marcus Exploration Inc. to complete an initial minimum 1,000 metre diamond drilling program on the Oro Amigo, Boss and Boss Extension.  Three holes are planned for Oro Amigo, two holes are planned for Boss and three deep holes (approximately 300 metres) are planned for the Boss Extension.  The drilling is expected to commence in either late September or in early October, 2008.

    Future Plans:
Exploration over the next month will focus on a 6,000 foot long (2 kilometre) portion of the 14,000 foot long (4.3 kilometres) alteration zone referred to as the Ironside Block.  The Ironside Block is characterized by a zone of coarse grained dolomite alteration and bleaching that is approximately 6,000 feet long and ranges from 1,500 to 2,500 feet wide.  The main zone of copper-gold mineralization within the Ironside Block is referred to as the Ironside zone.  This zone consists of five levels of underground workings which have not been systematically sampled.  The analytical results (see Boxxer prospectus dated August 29, 2003) set out below represent reconnaissance sampling in the underground workings on the main level of the Ironside Zone.

    Sample No. Interval (m) Cu (%) Au (g/t) Pt (g/t) Pd (g/t) Ag (g/t)
    BM 47 - 02 0.70 1.25 16.75 1.95 1.50 90.00
    BM 51 - 02 1.56 1.93 1.06 0.10 0.22 7.20
    BM 52 - 02 3.70 4.13 0.53 0.08 0.21 29.00

    Sample Preparation and Analysis:
All channel samples were collected with a hammer and chisel and represent continuous sampling of the material within the sample interval.   Sample weights ranged from 2 to 4 kilograms and sample intervals ranged from 1 to 3.4 metres.  All samples were prepared ALS Chemex laboratory in Winnemucca, Nevada and were analyzed by ALS Chemex in Vancouver, British Columbia using PGM-ICP 23 for gold, platinum and palladium and ME-ICP41 for silver and copper and other metals. ALS Chemex’s quality system complies with the requirements for the International Standards ISO9001:2000 and ISO 17025:1999.  Analytical accuracy and precision are monitored by the use of international and in-house standards.

    Quality Control
Boxxer follows a rigorous Quality Assurance/Quality Control program consisting of inserting blanks and duplicates into the sample stream submitted to the laboratory for analysis.

Elmer B. Stewart, MSc. P. Geol., President of Boxxer, is the Corporation’s nominated Qualified Person pursuant to National Instrument #43-101, Standards for Disclosure for Mineral Projects, has reviewed the technical information disclosed in this news release.
